Assigning work to contractors

In Anchorlet, contractors are attached to specific issues rather than to properties. This way one contractor can work on many properties, and one property can use different contractors depending on the job.

How to assign a contractor to an issue

  1. Open the issue — from the Issues tab or the property page.
  2. In the Assigned Contractors section, click Assign and pick a contractor from your list.
  3. They're now linked to the issue. You can assign more than one if a job needs different trades.

If the contractor isn't on the list yet

You need to add them to your contractors list first. See Adding a contractor. It takes under a minute, and once they're on the list they're available for every future issue.

Sending them the details

Assigning a contractor records who's responsible — it doesn't email them on its own. When you're ready to send the job over, use the dispatch flow from the issue: Anchorlet drafts an email to the contractor with the property address, the issue details, and any attached photos, and you review and send it. See Dispatching a contractor.

Prefer to handle it yourself? Phone, text, or WhatsApp them directly — Anchorlet records who's assigned either way, so the history stays accurate.

Reassigning

To change who's on a job, assign a different contractor or Remove the current one from the Assigned Contractors section. The issue history keeps a record of who was assigned, and when.

Tracking who did what

After an issue is closed, the contractor's name stays on the record. Your Contractors directory shows each contractor with their trade and how many active assignments they have, so over time you can see who you rely on most.
